Poker Pros Battle It Out in EPT Prague and WPT Five Diamond Classic

In December, professional poker players competed in major tournaments across Europe and America. Andrey Pateychuk secured a victory in the main event of WPT Prague, observed live with commentary by Mikhail Savinov, Sergey Rybachenko, Andrey Zaichenko, and Vitaly Volov.

Following WPT Prague, the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague kicked off. Despite strong representation, no Russian players made it to the final table of the main event with a €5,300 buy-in. Martin Finger, a German student, won the main event of EPT Prague, earning €720,000. He has been playing poker for only three years and is a regular on PokerStars' SnG tables. In the heads-up, Martin had 15,25 million chips against Daniil Boyachian's 6,41 million. Before the heads-up, they agreed to split the prize pool, with Martin taking €620,000 and Daniil €535,000, leaving €100,000 in play.

In the high roller event of EPT Prague, John Andreass emerged victorious, earning €176,400. Andrey Pateychuk finished sixth, taking home €26,950. Across the Atlantic, the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic was underway at the Bellagio. Doyle Brunson, the tournament's namesake, was eliminated early. Antonio Esfandiari, who won the event last year, was among the leaders but was eliminated in the 10th hand.
