Epic Poker League and Global Poker Index: Revolutionizing Tournament Poker
The Epic Poker League is a series of poker tournaments organized by Annie Duke and Jeffrey Pollack under the organization Federated Sports + Gaming's (FS+G). The first tournament of the Epic Poker League is scheduled to take place in early August at the Palms hotel in Las Vegas.
The Global Poker Index (GPI) is a new poker ranking system developed by Annie Duke, Eric Folkner, and Donald Schlesinger. The GPI ranks the top 300 tournament poker players in the world on a weekly basis. The GPI considers results from the past 36 months in tournaments with a buy-in of at least $1,500. The GPI accounts for the percentage of opponents a player has beaten in a tournament. The GPI values more recent results higher than older ones. The GPI only considers the top three results of a player for each six-month period. The GPI's methodology is not fully disclosed, and the exact results considered for each player are not clear. The first version of the GPI was published during the World Series of Poker, with Jason Merce leading the list.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
