Spanish Gaming Regulator Bans Data Transfer Between .com and .es Accounts
The Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) published a document on May 31, 2012, stating that gaming rooms cannot transfer any data between .com and .es accounts, including funds, loyalty points, and affiliate information.
The DGOJ clarified that operators must use a .es domain for online gaming activities in Spain and redirect all connections from Spanish locations to this domain. This directive is in accordance with the article 10.4, letters d) and e), of the Ley 13/2011, de 27 de mayo, de regulación del juego.
New .es user registrations cannot include any rights or obligations from previous .com accounts. Funds or credit rights from .com accounts cannot be transferred to new .es accounts, ensuring that each new registration is independent and compliant with Spanish gaming regulations.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
