David Peters Wins Third Event at US Poker Open, Secures Top Spot
David Peters has made a significant mark at the US Poker Open by securing his third victory in a week. He won the $25k NLHE penultimate event, earning $465,750 and leaping to the top of the leaderboard race.
Peters' journey to the top has been impressive. He had previously won the seventh event, a $10k NLHE, and the 10th event, a $10k Short Deck. His consistent performance has solidified his position as a top contender.
In the final event, Peters faced strong competition from familiar faces. Vanessa Kade, who had already final tabled this week, was eliminated by Peters in a crucial hand. Dan Shak finished in third place, earning $224,250, while Ivan Zufic finished in second place, earning $345,000. The heads-up battle between Peters and Zufic was intense, with Peters ultimately securing his victory.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
