David Haye Announces Poker Documentary 'David vs Goliath'
Former world champion boxer David Haye has announced the release of a documentary about his transition into professional poker. The film, titled David vs Goliath, will delve into his training and experiences at the poker table.
Haye, who retired from boxing in 2018, began his poker journey by training with British poker professionals Kэti Swift, Jeff Kimber, and Joe Bevers. His goal was to win the Goliath Poker 2019 tournament, but he placed 40th, earning $2,570. Additionally, he earned $740 in a poker tournament in Manila with a $530 buy-in. His total poker earnings amount to $3,300.
In the documentary, Haye reflects on his poker journey, comparing his boxing experience to his newfound passion. He acknowledges that his sporting background is less valuable in poker, where psychology and intellect are key. However, he finds parallels in the need to endure a series of failures to achieve success.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
