Daniel Negreanu Opens Up About Poker, Phil Ivey, and His Career

Daniel Negreanu, a prominent figure in the poker world, recently opened a forum topic titled 'Ask Daniel' on his FullContactPoker website. This initiative aims to engage with his audience and answer their questions, providing a deeper insight into his thoughts and experiences.

Negreanu has been more focused on tournaments lately, shifting away from cash games. This change is partly due to his involvement in video blogging, which he mentioned takes up a significant amount of his time. He also revealed that he has been spending more time relaxing at home in Vegas with his dog, further reducing his involvement in cash games.

When asked about his opinion on Phil Ivey, Negreanu had some strong words. He described Ivey as a 'ludoman' and shared that he has a funny story about Ivey for his video blog. Negreanu also advised young players not to rush into professional poker, encouraging them to enjoy their youth. He mentioned that he prefers playing against certain players, such as Sam Farha, T-Jay Cloutier, and DevilFish.

Negreanu also discussed a memorable bad beat he experienced against Erik Lindgren in a televised poker game. He recalled the details of the hand, where Lindgren's pocket eights held up against his pocket nines, resulting in a significant loss for Negreanu.

In response to a question about who he would lend money to, Negreanu included himself in the top three, along with Phil Ivey, Brian Balsbaugh, and John Juanda. This highlights his trust in these individuals and their ability to manage and return the funds.
