Daniel Negreanu Aims for Third WSOP Player of the Year Title
Daniel Negreanu is on a mission to secure his third WSOP Player of the Year title and seventh bracelet. His journey in the WSOP Player of the Year race began in 2004 when he won the title after cashing in 6 out of 32 events, reaching 4 final tables and collecting his third bracelet. He won the title again in 2013, becoming the first player to win the award twice.
Negreanu's last WSOP win was in 2013 when he won the €25,600 High Roller No Limit Hold'em €725,000. He believes that chasing the Player of the Year title will help him in his quest for more wins, as it’s almost impossible to win without picking up at least one win throughout the series.
In 2019, Negreanu was awarded his record-breaking third Player of the Year title, but an error was spotted in the calculation and it was then handed over to Australian Robert Campbell. Despite this setback, Negreanu remains determined to hit his third WSOP Player of the Year award before anyone else has two.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
