Daniel Negreanu Joins Forces with Barstool Sports to Aid Small Businesses
Daniel Negreanu has stepped up to help small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting the Barstool Fund. The Canadian poker pro agreed to help those in need, offering his services to Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who recently answered a challenge to support small business owners at risk due to the pandemic.
Negreanu was invited to participate in the charity drive by his friend Barstool Nate. Nate organized a raffle with tickets selling for $100 each. When the total funds donated reach $25,000, Negreanu will match the amount and give the winner a one-hour poker lesson.
The initial group of businesses to benefit from the Barstool Fund will be restaurants in the New York City area. The first to receive a check was a 65-year-old restaurant owned by the father of Barstool Sports producer Frankie Borrelli. The business has been significantly impacted during 2020 and was at risk of closing permanently without improvement in the situation.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
