Connecticut Casino Designates Floor for Elderly Customers Amid COVID-19

Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut has designated an entire floor for customers aged 55 and older. The designated floor is part of the Rainmaker casino within the Foxwoods Resort. This move is aimed at providing a safer gaming environment for elderly customers who are at higher risk of COVID-19 complications.

The casino is located in a tribal reservation, where it is not obligated to follow state anti-epidemic rules. Foxwoods Resort Casino closed voluntarily in mid-March and reopened in early June with enhanced sanitation measures. The casino's general director, Jason Gaito, stated that the safety of regular visitors has been their top priority.

Foxwoods Resort Casino is hoping that other casinos will follow their example to provide a safer environment for elderly customers. The designated floor offers a frequently disinfected space where customers can relax and play in a safe environment.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
