Cole South: From Poker Prodigy to Balanced Life Advocate
Cole South, a professional poker player, began his online poker journey in December 2005 and started his professional career in 2006. He was one of the early trainers on the educational site CardRunners, recording videos on NLH and later PLO.
South is known for being one of the first to apply wide 3-bets in poker, inspired by players like BLdSWtTRs and loltrickedu. He emphasizes the importance of observing and understanding the strategies of top players, which has helped him refine his own game.
In his personal life, Cole South has been married to his college girlfriend for several years. He enjoys activities like snowboarding, climbing, and boxing, and believes in maintaining a balanced life. South's approach to poker and daily life is deeply analytical, but he also advocates for relaxing and enjoying the moment.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
