Poker Pro Christoph Vogelsang Faces Backlash for Excessive Tanking
German high-stakes poker pro Christoph Vogelsang has come under fire for his excessive tanking during WSOP Event #6: $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em. Viewers on the PokerGO platform expressed frustration with how long Vogelsang was taking on seemingly obvious decisions.
Lex Veldhuis criticized Vogelsang's behavior, comparing it to unsportsmanlike conduct in other sports. He tweeted, 'It's extremely pathetic to try and use things that have nothing to do with poker strategy to tilt your opponents. Slowrolling, excessive timebanking, types of speech play, all for losers. It's like fistpumping a double fault in tennis. Grow up.'
Justin Bonomo disagreed with Lex Veldhuis, stating that Vogelsang's behavior is typical and unacceptable. He tweeted, 'Gotta disagree with you here Lex. He tanks for absurd amounts all the time in high rollers... When it costs him time bank chips.' Bonomo also recounted a story where Vogelsang's tanking was pointed out to him, and he speeded up his play but remained the slowest player at the table.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
