Chico Poker Network Bans Screen Capture Software and Hides Player Nicknames

Chico Poker Network has removed the ability to view player nicknames at cash tables in observer mode. This change means that to see player nicknames, you must place at least 1 BB. This new rule significantly limits nickname hunting and makes table selection more difficult for regulars.

Additionally, Chico Poker Network has banned the use of screen capture applications. This prohibition applies to converters, streaming platforms, and even Skype. Taking screenshots is also not allowed under the new rules. These restrictions have already deterred poker streamers who played in Chico Poker Network rooms, and it is likely that regular players will leave, making way for more recreational players.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
