Carlos Chang Secures First WSOP Bracelet in Epic Showdown
Carlos Chang made history at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) by winning Event #41: $2,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em, securing his first bracelet and becoming the third Taiwanese player to achieve this feat. Chang topped a field of 896 entries and walked away with a prize of $364,589.
This victory marks Chang’s career best, pushing his live tournament earnings past the $1.5 million mark. Chang, who is not a professional player, described his excitement about the win, noting that he had told himself that if he made a final table this year, he would win the bracelet. His strategic focus paid off in a thrilling heads-up battle against Brady Osterman, which lasted an unusually long three and a half hours.
Osterman, from the United States, put up a strong fight but ultimately finished as the runner-up with $225,333. Chang described Osterman as aggressive and noted that he had to pick his spots carefully. The final momentum shift occurred during a standard coin flip where Chang’s eights faced off against Osterman’s ace-king. Chang doubled up from this hand, setting the stage for his eventual victory.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
