bwin.party Pays €33M to Secure Spanish Gambling License

bwin.party has paid €33 million to the Spanish tax authorities to cover back taxes and interest to secure its license to operate in Spain. The company believes it has completed all the requirements to ensure its presence in the regulated market and continue operating peacefully in Spain.

Pablo Rojas, known as Pableras, won the EsPT Ibiza tournament and €41,000. Four Spanish players reached the final table: Pablo Rojas, Jaume Niell, Dragan Kostic, and Daniel Colomà. Pablo Rojas made a deal with Amaury Legait and Daniel Ericson, securing €36,000 while the others received €50,000 and €40,000 respectively.

After Ericson was eliminated, Pablo Rojas went all-in with A 4 against 6 6. The flop showed T Q 6, and the three of sixes won, though there was a possibility of a flush. The 3 on the turn allowed Rojas to double up and gain momentum in the duel.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
