Boyd Gaming Sells Former Casino Site for $28.8 Million
Boyd Gaming sold the former Eastside Cannery Casino site in Las Vegas last week. The 29.5-acre property was sold for $28.8 million to a New York investment firm. Boyd took a significant loss on the sale after purchasing the land in 2025 for $45 million.
Clark County commissioners approved a plan for 279 two-story, single-family homes on the site located along Boulder Highway in eastern Las Vegas Valley. The development includes two parks and walking trails.
The former casino site will be developed into a new housing community. The New York investment firm will grant an option to Lennar Corp. to acquire the property. Lennar plans to construct a subdivision on the former home of Eastside Cannery Casino.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
