High-Stakes Poker: Bill Perkins and Victor Malinowski's Epic Showdown
In late August, Chinese players reportedly disappeared from high-stakes cash games due to deposit issues, and Bill Perkins took over as the center of the game. Perkins played a short session at $200/$400 with Stefan Burakov, Kirill Zaerko, and a group of American MTT players.
Victor Malinowski joked with Jake Schindler about leaving the game and expressed his willingness to show his hands on showdown if certain conditions were met. He also shared his betting habits, including always placing at least 50% of his bankroll on every fight involving Habib Nurmagomedov.
During a heated exchange, Malinowski proposed a high-stakes challenge to Schindler, involving playing on two tables while he continued drinking. Schindler declined, and Malinowski offered $2,000 to anyone willing to participate. The offer was ignored, and Schindler left shortly after Perkins.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
