Bill Perkins and Landon Tice's High-Stakes Poker Showdown Just Got Even More Interesting
Poker enthusiasts are in for a treat as Landon Tice tweeted an update to the conditions for his upcoming heads-up match with Bill Perkins. The match is a $200/$400 challenge, with pots regularly breaking the $50,000 barrier, making it easy to swing over a million dollars.
The match is a little different from what we have become used to over the last year. Bill Perkins, an ultra-rich hedge fund manager, has a $720,000 head start. As much as 90% of Landon Tice's action has been sold to backers, but it doesn’t really matter for what this challenge is all about.
With the side bet, things get even more interesting. That’s pretty much a cool $1 million on the line now. The match is rumoured to be kicking off next month but no dates have been confirmed as yet.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
