From Telemarketing to Poker Pro: bbissick's 5-Year Journey
bbissick's poker journey began in May 2015, shortly after graduating from the University of Salisbury. His first job after college was as a sales manager in a small company, a role he hated. He started playing poker during his final semester in college and quickly became obsessed with the game.
In December 2015, bbissick started his professional poker career with a bankroll of $8,000. The transition from a 9-to-5 job to professional poker was challenging. He struggled with laziness and procrastination, and his first year in poker was financially difficult. Despite these challenges, he moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, to start his independent life.
In 2017, bbissick enrolled in the Bluff The Spot poker school, agreeing to a year-long collaboration for 50% of his profit. This decision significantly improved his poker skills. He met his future wife, Victoria, shortly after moving to Hoboken. His poker results improved significantly in 2019, culminating in a six-figure profit for the year.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
