Australian Casino Fined for Allowing 12-Year-Old to Gamble
The Star casino in New South Wales has been fined $64,500 for allowing a 12-year-old girl to gamble on slot machines. The incident has raised concerns about casino security and the responsibilities of both parents and casino staff.
An unknown woman brought her 12-year-old daughter into The Star casino through a back entrance to avoid security. The woman allowed her daughter to make about 20 bets on a slot machine.
According to Australian laws, individuals under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from entering gambling establishments. However, in this case, the casino is held responsible for the incident. In addition to the fine, the casino has been ordered to address security flaws. Local authorities have also expressed concern over the mother's actions in allowing and encouraging her young daughter to gamble.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
