Arseny Karmatsky, a seasoned poker professional, has made a name for himself in both live and online tournaments. His most significant live win came last year in Sochi, where he took home $478,000 from the EPT Sochi tournament. Overall, his live tournament winnings amount to approximately $1.5 million.
Karmatsky's online poker career has also been remarkably successful. Over the weekend, he surpassed $3.5 million in online tournament winnings. On Sunday, PokerStars hosted multiple SCOOP tournaments, one of which Karmatsky participated in under the pseudonym josef_shvejk. The tournament had a substantial prize pool of $1,410,000, with 282 entries each paying $5,200.
In the final stages, the top three players agreed to a deal, with Karmatsky securing $225,000. The finalists continued to compete for the championship title, which ultimately went to Karmatsky.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
