Armenian Poker Pro Artur Martirosyan Dominates PGT Last Chance Series

The PGT Last Chance series took place in early January at the Aria casino. The series featured six tournaments with a $10,000 buy-in each, and each tournament saw between 80 and 90 entries. The series concluded the PokerGO Tour 2023, with players competing for spots in the PGT Championship freeroll with a $1 million prize pool.

Armenian poker player Artur Martirosyan won two out of six tournaments in the series. Martirosyan also finished in the prize money in one other tournament. Martirosyan's victories secured him a spot in the top 40 of the yearly leaderboard and guaranteed his participation in the freeroll.

Daniel Negreanu won the first tournament of the series. Nick Schulman won the final tournament of the series. 54 players received invitations to the freeroll, including four who chose not to participate. The four players who did not participate were Ruslan Pidrik, Orpen Kisacikoglu, Adrian Mateos, and Alex Kulev. Jeff Lennon, who was invited through a satellite, caused controversy by his behavior during the tournament. Alex Foxen criticized the inclusion of satellite winners in the freeroll, calling it a 'clown show'.
