Anatoly Filatov Leads Moscow Wolverines in Global Poker League
Anatoly Filatov is set to lead the Moscow Wolverines team in the newly announced Global Poker League. The league, initiated by Alex Dreyfus, will feature 12 teams competing throughout the season. Each team will have a captain and a roster of players selected through a draft process.
The Moscow Wolverines will have their draft on February 25 in Los Angeles. Anatoly Filatov will be responsible for selecting the players for his team. The draft will include players from the top 1000 of the GPI ranking, with the option to choose one foreign player. The matches will be played in 6-max and HU formats, with most games taking place online and some in special venues. The grand final is planned for the summer, after the WSOP, either in New York or Las Vegas.
In addition to the main events, the Global Poker League will feature charity boxing matches. In late December, a match between Sorel Mizzi and Brian Rast raised $8,561 for the REG fund. The league will also have Russian-language coverage, with Dim LiliD and Oksana Sunny_Oksunny working alongside Anatoly Filatov to provide news, interviews, and analysis for Russian-speaking audiences.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
