Adrián Mateos 'Amadi_17' Leads Spanish Contingent in WPT Barcelona 2013
Adrián Mateos 'Amadi_17' is the only survivor from the Spanish team Sonrisas y lágrimas in the WPT Barcelona 2013. Out of the three representatives from Spain, only Adrián Mateos 'Amadi_17' managed to advance past the first day of the tournament, which featured 106 participants.
Samuel Jiménez 'Samy' lost three-quarters of his stack in the first level after running into a full house. Raúl Mestre was eliminated in the last level of the day due to fatigue and bad luck. Despite facing a challenging table throughout the day, Adrián Mateos ended the day with 75,100 points, leading the Spanish contingent.
Adrián Mateos will return to the tables on Sunday, aiming for another in-the-money finish in his career. The general classification includes notable players such as Manuel Bevand, Besim Hot, and Simon Berntsen, among others.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
