ActionFreak Cuts Into Galfond's Lead in High-Stakes Poker Battle
Phil Galfond started his heads-up challenge with a comfortable lead of 400,000€. However, his opponent, ActionFreak, has been steadily closing the gap. In the latest sessions on Thursday and Friday, ActionFreak emerged victorious, significantly reducing Galfond's advantage.
On Thursday, the players engaged in 784 hands at limits of 150€-300€. By the end of the session, Galfond found himself down by 23,363€. The following day, Friday, saw another 710 hands played, with ActionFreak securing a win of 57,000€.
Despite these setbacks, Galfond still maintains a lead of 116,000€. The duo will return to the online tables of PartyPoker on Saturday to continue their high-stakes battle, with 6,234 hands remaining to complete the challenge.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
