888poker and GGPoker Suspend Services for Russian Players
In response to the ongoing situation in Ukraine, 888poker and GGPoker have joined PokerStars in suspending services for Russian players. 888poker announced that all operations in Russia will be suspended starting March 15th until further notice.
GGPoker, on the other hand, has notified all Russian players to withdraw all funds before the service suspension. The situation for 888poker players is a bit more complex, as they can only receive money via the online wallet MuchBetter, which requires a small deposit of its own.
This move follows the trend of major companies refusing to do business in Russia amidst the worldwide outcry over the invasion of Ukraine. However, none of these poker platforms have made any political comments in support of Ukraine, leading some to speculate that the financial sanctions on Russian banks are the primary factor for the withdrawal.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
