PKO (progressive knockout) in poker
Definition
A bounty tournament in which half of each buy-in becomes a bounty on the player's head, and eliminating a player pays you part of their bounty.
In a progressive knockout, when you eliminate an opponent you receive half of their bounty in cash, and the other half is added to your own bounty. Bounties therefore grow as players win knockouts.
Because of bounties, calls with lower equity become profitable, since winning an all-in also wins the bounty. This is why PKO strategy is looser than in regular tournaments.
