Gutshot in poker
Definition
A straight draw with a gap in the middle that needs one specific rank to complete; it has four outs.
A gutshot such as 9-10-Q-K needs a jack, so only four cards help. It hits about 16.5% of the time by the river and 8.7% on the next card, so it is rarely worth calling a large bet with it alone.
A gutshot paired with other draws or overcards, called a double gutshot or combo draw, can be much stronger.
