Mizrahi and Deib Chase Helmut: WSOP Highlights and Controversies
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) continues to captivate the poker community with its thrilling tournaments and unexpected outcomes. Finnish poker players Juha Helppi and Eelis Pärssinen recently competed in a mixed PLO/NLHE tournament with a $25,000 buy-in, with the younger Pärssinen emerging victorious.
Eelis Pärssinen's victory was not his first this year; a few weeks prior, he won a bracelet in a PLO high roller tournament. Juha Helppi, who will turn 50 next year, has an impressive track record, having won bracelets in $10,000 LHE and $5,000 PLO tournaments in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
In other exciting news, Michael Mizrahi secured his ninth bracelet in a PLO tournament with a $10,000 buy-in. Mizrahi led the tournament throughout and maintained his lead until the final table. However, he faced a significant challenge when Jesse Lonis took the lead with eight players remaining. The crucial hand occurred at the 100,000/150,000 level, where Lonis opened with a raise of 550,000 from the UTG position with KdQd, and Mizrahi called with AdQc from the HJ. On the flop, Lonis bet 1.5 million, and Mizrahi called. The turn brought 7s, and Lonis bet 4.5 million. After a long thought, Mizrahi went all-in with 8.3 million. Lonis, holding a pair and a gutshot, called. The river brought 2s, giving Mizrahi a higher hand and securing his victory.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
