Former Champs Joe McKeehen and Greg Raymer Bust Out Early on Day 1D of WSOP Main Event
Two former World Series of Poker champions, Joe McKeehen and Greg Raymer, were eliminated early on Day 1D of the WSOP Main Event. The fourth opening flight of the flagship $10k “World Championship” of poker saw two of its former champions hit the rails early, neither Joe McKeehen nor Greg Raymer able to traverse the biggest starting field yet.
Greg Raymer was eliminated when he went all-in against Victor Peppe with A♦ Q♣ against Peppe's A♠ K♣. The cards were revealed as follows: Flop: 6♥ 7♠ J♠, Turn: J♣, River: 3♥. David Williams, the player Raymer defeated for the title in 2004, also failed to navigate through Day 1D.
2550 players appeared for the 4th of six Main Event starting flights, more than doubling the total field to date. Maria Ho, Kathy Liebert, Danielle “dmoongirl” Andersen and Kitty Kuo all advanced to Day 2. Adedapo Ajayi led the chip counts with 340,900.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
