GiG CFO Phil Richards Steps Down to Join Chaos

Phil Richards, who served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) since July 2024, has announced his departure from the company. Richards revealed his decision via a LinkedIn post, stating that October 2026 was his last month at GiG. He will join Chaos, a company offering world-class visualization solutions, as their CFO effective December 1, 2026.

During his tenure at GiG, Richards played a crucial role in several significant milestones. Under his leadership, the company completed its initial public offering (IPO) and acquired a majority stake in 888Africa. Richards expressed gratitude to GiG’s teams and senior-level executives for their collaboration and support during his time at the company.

Richards’ background includes a CFO role at Corero Network Security and various senior-level positions at Kambi. He praised GiG’s achievements, highlighting the company’s growth and success during his time there. "It has been a period of real change for GiG and one of which I’m immensely proud of: Starting with the IPO, alongside our significantly sharpening both the focus and quality of our platform offering whilst strengthening financial reporting and investor engagement, culminating with completing the acquisition of a majority stake in 888Africa," Richards wrote.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
