WSOP Main Event Day 3: Key Players Busted Before the Bubble
The WSOP Main Event Day 3 began with 3,453 players out of the original 9,735 remaining. The blinds started at 1,000/2,500 with an ante of 2,500 on the big blind. Carlo Serrano raised 6,000 from the button, and Andrey Pateichuk defended the big blind. On the flop, Andrey check-called a 3,500 bet. Both players checked on the turn and river, with Andrey's king-high winning the pot.
Matthew Sabia raised 5,500 from an early position, Roland Rokita called from the middle, and Will Kassouf called on the button. On the flop, two players checked, and Kassouf bet 13,000. Sabia responded with a minimum check-raise to 26,000. Rokita folded, and Kassouf called after some deliberation. On the turn, Sabia checked, and Kassouf, suspecting Sabia had A♦Q♦, bet 57,000. Sabia, with a set of fours, went all-in, and Kassouf called with a flush to eight. The river did not change the outcome, and Kassouf's stack grew to 785,000.
Michael Garner raised 5,000 from the button with KQ, and Leon Sturm called from the small blind with AQ. The big blind folded. Sturm won several recent hands, frustrating his opponents. On the flop, Sturm check-raised Garner's 3,000 bet to 9,000. Garner called, and on the turn, Sturm led with 14,000. Garner raised to 30,000, and Sturm called. The river brought a 40,000 bet from Garner, and after some thought, Sturm folded, surprising the commentators.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
