Fantasy Drafts at WSOP: Zhukov's Dominance and Other Key Moments
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) fantasy drafts saw some impressive performances this year. In the $1,500 Russian draft, Vyacheslav 'Amke' Zhukov dominated the competition, earning the top prize of $9,750. Zhukov's team was led by Brian Hastings, who won two bracelets, and included notable players like Robert Mizrachi, who won a bracelet and made deep runs in several tournaments. Zhukov himself was bought by his team for a quarter of his bankroll, contributing significantly to his team's success.
Holden1989 finished third in the $1,500 Russian draft, earning $3,900. Despite a strong start, Holden1989's team struggled in the later stages due to some questionable acquisitions. Gipsy finished fourth, benefiting from the strong performances of MVP draft picks Gorodinsky and Zinno, but ultimately fell short of the prize zone due to other underperforming draft decisions.
In the $100 open forum draft, Gaid emerged victorious, earning $1,444. Alexander 'iskander' Yelensky finished second, earning $836, while Bobber secured third place with $570. The draft also saw notable performances from holden1989, Maicoshaa, and NDQuattro, who all made it into the prize money. The organizer of the event, kudri, narrowly missed out on the prize money but had a successful run on the side bets.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
