WSOP 2021: High Stakes, Historic Wins, and Russian Players' Performance

The 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) saw a series of exciting tournaments with notable outcomes. In tournament #32, the HORSE event for $3,000, 32-year-old American professional Jim Collopy emerged victorious, taking home $172,823. This was Collopy's first WSOP bracelet, although he had previously won a PLO tournament at WSOP Asia-Pacific in 2013 and finished second in a $1,500 HORSE tournament at WSOP 2014.

Tournament #33, a no-limit hold'em event for $800 in deepstack format, was won by Israeli Ran Koller, who defeated fellow Israeli Ran Ilani in a heads-up match, earning $269,478. Oleg Titov from Russia finished fourth, securing $94,028.

David 'Bakes' Baker won his third bracelet in tournament #34, the 2-7 triple draw for $1,500, taking home $87,837. Anthony Kutzos won tournament #35, no-limit hold'em for $500, earning $167,272. Ukrainian professional Denis Chufarin finished 11th, earning $12,944.

Tournament #36, Dealer's Choice for $10,000, was a historic event. Adam Friedman won his fourth bracelet, earning $248,350. Friedman's victory was particularly notable as he defended his title against Phil Hellmuth, who was aiming for his 17th bracelet.

Karolis Sereika from Lithuania won tournament #37, super turbo bounty no-limit hold'em for $1,500, earning $195,310. This marked the first WSOP bracelet for a Lithuanian player.

Michael Addamo's victory in tournament #38, no-limit hold'em high roller for $50,000, was a highlight of the series. Addamo defeated Justin Bonomo in a heads-up match, earning $1,132,968. His strategic play and luck were key factors in his success.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
