WSOP 2018: New Schedule, More Bracelets, and High-Stakes Tournaments
The 2018 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will start on May 30 and conclude with a $1,000,000 tournament on July 15. This year, 78 bracelets will be awarded, four more than in 2017. The schedule was published on December 12.
The Player's Championship for $50,000 will be held on June 15, and the Main Event will start on July 2. The final table will be determined on July 12, and the winner will be announced on July 14. Unlike previous years, other bracelet events will run concurrently with the Main Event.
New high-stakes tournaments with buy-ins of $100,000 and $50,000 have been added to the schedule. The team event with a $10,000 buy-in has been replaced with a super turbo bounty event with $3,000 bounty per eliminated opponent and 20-minute levels. The initial version of the schedule, which included a $1,000/$2,000/$3,000 Boost Your Stack tournament, was removed from the WSOP website. The final version includes a $1,000 tournament with two starting days and a starting stack of 10,000. The full schedule can be viewed on the WSOP website.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
