World Series of Poker 2014 Moves to Australia, PokerStars Launches 'Shark Cage'
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is undergoing significant changes for 2014. The event will be held in Australia, with the WSOP APAC taking place from October 1 to 17 at the Crown Casino in Melbourne.
The decision to move the WSOP to Australia was made to improve organizational standards and focus marketing efforts on one region. This change is part of a broader strategy to enhance the overall experience and prestige of the event.
In addition to the changes in the WSOP schedule, PokerStars is launching a new television show called 'Shark Cage'. The show will feature eight games, with each game involving five professionals and one player who has qualified through online tournaments. The winner of the final game, which will be held during the EPT in London, will receive a $1,000,000 prize.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
