WPT Montreal to Honor Mike Sexton with $1M Tournament
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Montreal will host the Mike Sexton Classic tournament on January 31 at 22:05 MSK. This event is a tribute to the late poker legend Mike Sexton, who passed away last year after battling cancer. The buy-in for the tournament is $10,300, with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000.
The final day of the tournament will be broadcast live on YouTube on February 1, with Ilya Gorodecky serving as the commentator. Fans can watch the action unfold in real-time and cheer for their favorite players.
PartyPoker is offering daily satellites in their lobby, providing players with the chance to win a seat in the Mike Sexton Classic for as little as one cent. The path from the centrel to the final phase involves several stages, including Phase 1, Phase 2, and the Sunday Final Phase, with guaranteed tickets up for grabs at each step.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
