World Series of Poker 2019: New Tournaments, Changes, and Highlights
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2019 will run from May 28 to July 16, featuring 20 tournaments with buy-ins of $10,000 or more. The main event will start on July 3, with a $1,000 mini-version two days prior. Players will begin with a 60,000 starting stack and identical blind structures, with levels lasting 30 minutes instead of 120.
The Colossus tournament's buy-in has been reduced from $565 to $400, with a 40,000 starting stack and 40-minute levels. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the WSOP will host the Big 50 tournament with a $500 buy-in, 50,000 starting chips, 50-minute levels, and a $5 million guarantee. Additionally, several Deepstack tournaments with buy-ins of $600 and $800 will be held, culminating in the Deepstack Championship on June 25 with a $600 buy-in and a $500,000 guarantee.
The Salute to Warriors tournament, with a $500 buy-in, will conclude on July 4, with proceeds supporting American military veterans. Nine bracelets will be awarded in online tournaments on WSOP.com, held every Sunday from June 2 to July 14. Poker Central and ESPN will handle video content, with the main event and final tables broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and PokerGO. Additionally, partypoker has become the official sponsor of Bill Perkins' Twitch channel, The Thirst Lounge.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
