Wilhasha Reflects on Poker Career: High Stakes, Strategies, and Future Plans
Wilhasha, a prominent poker player, recently shared insights into his career, strategies, and future plans in an interview. He played only 80k hands this year, mostly in the spring and a few sessions in the summer.
High Stakes and Current State of Poker
Wilhasha does not use GTO software and is negative about the current state of high stakes poker. He believes that players selling large stakes and stopping after losing 5-10 buy-ins is detrimental to the game. He also does not consider Douglas Polk the strongest player currently, noting that WCGRider has been playing in the minus recently.
Favorite Players and Regrets
Wilhasha considers bajskorven87, jungleman, Sauce, and Ike the best NL HU players currently. He regrets not studying all games like Tueuric or Bloom, acknowledging that the ability to play all games gives a significant advantage. He also believes that Izildur is excellent at extracting profit when he has an advantage, often forcing opponents to risk their entire bankroll.
Future Plans and Personal Life
Wilhasha is willing to play at $5/$10 and $10/$20 if the game is enjoyable, indicating that money is not his primary concern. He discusses strategy with other top players like Tueuric and bajskorven, but he no longer plans to constantly improve his poker skills. Instead, he is now focused on investments. Wilhasha first appeared on high-stakes tables at PokerStars in December 2011, playing NLHE $25/$50 and $50/$100. His playstyle was initially compared to Izildur by other players, leading to speculation about his identity.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
