Online Poker Legalization: USA States Push for Regulation
The legalization of online poker in the USA is gaining momentum as several states discuss regulation. The deadline for the Department of Justice to appeal a January ruling of the Trump administration’s reinterpretation of the Wire Act finally expired in June.
Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey are already signatories of the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. With the new legal clarification on the Wire Act, these states might start talking to each other to put together a new framework that benefits the whole country. Michigan and Pennsylvania are new to the party and are thought to be discussing possibilities right now.
West Virginia could now be the next state drawing up a bill, and there is also talk regarding the small northeastern states like Connecticut, who were not previously considered suitable candidates for a standalone player pool, but could now tag along with another deal.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
