urubu111: The Brazilian Poker Player Who Lost Millions in Flips
urubu111, a Brazilian poker player, had his peak career years from 2011 to 2017. He was known for approaching regular players to propose flips, often without additional explanations needed. One such player, Ben86, refused to flip with urubu111 after losing $140k in 44 flips.
Trueteller was the player who almost never refused urubu111's flip offers. In the summer of 2013, urubu111 lost his entire bankroll in flips against Trueteller. Despite the losses, urubu111 continued to flip, even proposing flips on his blog.
In 2019, urubu111 started a new blog on 2+2, detailing his attempts to conquer mid-stakes without flipping. He reported playing 160,000 hands on PokerStars with a -90 buy-in deficit in 2020 and took a break from poker due to psychological struggles. In 2022, urubu111 returned to 2+2 to share his experiences and answer questions from readers. He began flipping for fun but later did it to win easy money or to tilt.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
