Uri Peleg: Mastering Realistic Poker Ranges with GTO Wizard
Uri Peleg, a well-known poker expert, has shared valuable insights on how to use GTO Wizard to analyze realistic poker ranges. In his first video for GTO Wizard, Peleg discusses the differences between solver ranges and real-life poker ranges.
Peleg explains that in real poker, many players prefer to keep middle connectors and pocket pairs, unlike the mixed strategy in solvers. This preference can significantly change the strategy and how GTO Wizard should be used for analyzing real-game situations.
GTO Wizard can be used to analyze more realistic poker ranges by adjusting hand distributions. Peleg demonstrates how changing the range of hands can affect post-flop strategies and expected value. For example, adding more weak hands to a range can increase equity but not necessarily the expected value. This is because while some hands may hit the board well, others may completely miss, leading to a more polarized range.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
