Ukrainian Poker Players Strike Gold in PokerStars Afterparty Tournaments
In the latest PokerStars Stadium Series Afterparty tournaments, Ukrainian poker players made a significant impact, turning small buy-ins into substantial prizes. The Afterparty series featured three final events with buy-ins of $1, $11, and $109.
Sultanchik, a Ukrainian player, secured the top spot in the $109 event, walking away with a massive $100,000 prize. Meanwhile, another Ukrainian player, Hagautama, dominated the $1.10 event, turning his $1.10 buy-in into a $7,500 windfall. Despite the smaller buy-in, Hagautama's victory is notable as he turned a modest investment into a significant return.
PokerStars faced an overlay of $35,000 for the $109 event, as only 65,111 out of the required 100,000 players participated. Additionally, Nick92NK, another Ukrainian player, finished in fifth place in the $1.10 event, earning $2,740. The top three finalists in the $1.10 event agreed to a deal, with each receiving prizes ranging from $7,265 to $7,752, highlighting the impressive returns for players in this tournament.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
