Ukrainian Poker Player Yevgeniy Dushko Wins $19,184 in Main Event
The Caribbean Poker Party series, traditionally held in the Bahamas, moved to the online arena of PartyPoker this year. The Main Event attracted 1,037 registrations and a prize pool of $5,185,000.
Yevgeniy Dushko, a Ukrainian player, made headlines by qualifying for the Main Event for just one cent. Dushko, who typically plays tournaments ranging from $2 to $5, found himself at the tables with high rollers. On the first day, he won a significant pot with a set of aces against a set of eights, boosting his stack. Despite his best efforts, Dushko finished in 55th place, winning $19,184.
The winner of the Main Event was Diego Ventura from Peru, who secured a total of $1,250,000 in prize money. Ventura was considered one of the main favorites throughout the tournament, and his chip lead played a crucial role in his victory. In the final hand, Ventura held two pairs on the flop, while his opponent, Grayson Raymidge, went all-in with a pocket pair of queens. The turn and river did not change the outcome, and Ventura emerged as the champion.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
