UKGC Fines Rank Group £5M for AML and Social Responsibility Failures
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has settled with Rank Group PLC and three operators owned by the company for a total of £5m. The regulator investigated and discovered deficiencies in the company’s anti-money laundering and social responsibility obligations, ordering the payment of the money, as well as an independent audit of AML practices.
UKGC Executive Director of Operations Sue Young said: 'Larger enforcement cases are often associated with online gambling but, as today’s announcement shows, the risks of anti-money laundering and social responsibility failures are equally alive in the land-based sector.' The regulator cautioned that Rank Group PLC’s settlement should serve as an example to other operators.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
