UK Gambling Commission Introduces Financial Risk Assessments for Vulnerable Players
The UK Gambling Commission is introducing Financial Risk Assessments (FRAs) to protect vulnerable high-spending gamblers. The first stage of FRA implementation will trigger at £5,000 net deposit in 24 hours for those aged 25 or older, and £2,500 for those under 25.
The Gambling Commission Acting Chief Executive Sarah Gardner stated that the approach uses high-quality data to support high-spending customers in financial difficulties while reducing friction for those not in financial difficulties. The Gambling Commission noted that high-spending customers are most likely to experience financial difficulties but are not always identified or supported by businesses.
The pilot showed that 97 percent of those spending above the threshold levels could be easily and frictionlessly assessed for financial difficulties.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
