Uipekha Da Silva Disqualified from ME WSOP Final Due to Positive COVID-19 Test
Brazilian poker player Uipekha Da Silva was disqualified from the ME WSOP final due to a positive COVID-19 test. He was automatically awarded ninth place and $98,813.
Da Silva started quarantine on December 10th, tested positive on December 20th, negative on December 26th, and positive again on December 27th. The remaining eight players will compete for the chance to face Damian Salas in the heads-up final.
Da Silva, a three-time WSOP gold bracelet winner, had been one of the main contenders for the victory in the event. He criticized the safety measures of WSOP, considering how important it was for him to play in the final.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
