Tyler 'Gogol's Nose' Forrester: Poker Pro Reflects on Career and Future
Tyler 'Gogol's Nose' Forrester, a graduate of Duke University with a degree in Slavic languages and literature, has been a prominent figure in the poker world since around 2005. He has been playing no-limit hold'em on mid-stakes and started creating educational videos for Run It Once a year ago. Forrester returned to the USA in the summer of 2015.
Forrester began playing poker at the age of seven with his father. He started playing seriously in 2004 while in college, drawn to the sport's competitive nature and his aptitude for mathematics. His best month in poker was April 2007, when he won $125,000 in cash. However, his worst month was April 2011, when he lost the ability to play poker from his home.
Forrester considers King10clubs, Nanonoko, and Nagoya2005 the strongest players in his game. He admires King10clubs for his exceptional skill and dedication to the game, while he believes Nagoya2005 is underrated despite his consistent dominance. Forrester's biggest mistake in his career was avoiding risk and not moving up stakes more aggressively. His biggest bet was losing $50 on a wager about Matt Damon's age.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
