Tommy Vedes Wins WPT Festa al Lago Main Event
The WPT Festa al Lago tournament began on Wednesday of the previous week with 175 players paying the $15,000 buy-in by the end of regular registration. The tournament organizers extended the registration period to Thursday, allowing more players to join, and the total number of participants reached 275. The prize pool reached $4 million, with the first-place prize being $1,218,225.
Mike Matousov was the chip leader after the first day, increasing his 60,000 starting stack to 224,200. Phil Hellmuth, who started on Thursday, was eliminated after two levels due to poor hands. Kenny Tran, who registered late, was eliminated quickly after going all-in with Kd Qd against Steve Gross's 7d 7s.
Tommy Vedes won the main event, defeating Lari Berg on the 11th place.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
