Sydney Casino Fined $64,500 for Underage Gambling Incidents
The Star Casino in Sydney, Australia, was fined $64,500 for underage gambling incidents. The incidents involved a 12-year-old girl who was allowed to gamble for 17 minutes, placing more than two dozen bets on various machines. The girl's mother snuck her in through a back door. The Star Casino was also found to be at fault for not noticing the young girl playing the poker machines.
A 17-year-old boy was able to buy alcohol and play both roulette and poker over a three-hour visit, which included 15 interactions with staff. A 16-year-old girl was served alcohol using a learner driver’s licence, which was only spotted as a mismatch when she attempted to enter an adjoining nightclub.
The Star Casino reported the three breaches to authorities.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
