Summer Poker Excitement: New Rooms, Big Tournaments, and Player Stories
The poker world is buzzing with excitement as the summer approaches, bringing with it a host of new developments and major events. The Super High Roller Bowl, one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, has already determined 30 of its participants by the end of March, with 18 VIP spots reserved. Among the notable players are Bill Perkins, Tony G, and Matt Hyman, who are the only three recreational players in the lineup.
In addition to these familiar faces, the tournament will see the debut of Brandon Adams, Seth Davis, and Dennis Blayden. The remaining two VIP spots will be announced later, adding to the anticipation. A two-level satellite for the tournament will be held on May 24 and 25, with the first level featuring a $550 buy-in and the second level at $10,000.
Poker Central has released a captivating 5-minute video about Bobby's Room, featuring stories from legendary players like Eli Elezra and Nick Schulman. The video highlights some of the most memorable moments in the room, including a dramatic night where Eli Elezra lost $1.37 million but later won $1.78 million in a single day. Nick Schulman shared a story about a fight that broke out during a hand, causing a 45-minute delay as the chips were sorted out.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
